Similar to the recent storm tore through the north-west the night before, Manchester City swept the visitors away at the Etihad Stadium. It was a convincing three-nil triumph for their manager's side owing to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their title credentials as they reinforced their standing at the top of the table.

Consecutive Losses for United
